Om Jai Shiv Omkara
About this Aarti
"Om Jai Shiv Omkara" is one of the defining aartis to Lord Shiva as the primal Om sound. The seven stanzas praise his trident, his matted hair, his crescent moon, his dwelling on Mount Kailash, his bull Nandi, and his power to bestow happiness on devotees. It is recited in Shiva temples and on Mondays and Shivaratri.
