Hanuman Ashtak
About this Chalisa
The Hanuman Ashtak ("eight stanzas of Hanuman") is a shorter devotional composition in eight stanzas glorifying Hanuman's physical form, courage, and divine attributes. Though briefer than the Hanuman Chalisa, each stanza is rich with imagery — the thunderbolt body, the blazing tail, the leap across the ocean. It is often recited alongside the Chalisa on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
