Performed to settle a new or existing home with prayers to the deities of the site, and to ask for peace in the household.

यह क्या है
Vastu Shanti is a rite to pacify a dwelling. A priest worships Ganesha, the earth, Vastu Purusha (the presiding spirit of the site) and the nine planets, so the family can settle in with peace of mind.

- Vastu Shanti pacifies the dwelling and asks Vastu Purusha and the deities of the site for peace, protection and harmony in the home.
- Families perform it for a new house, or to settle an existing home, alongside sound construction and the advice of their architect or engineer.
- It is offered with prayer so the household can settle in with peace of mind.

- At the housewarming, or before construction work begins.
- On a day chosen from the panchang. See the Griha Pravesh timing rules, which are often used for this rite too.

- Bhumi puja honours the earth and asks pardon for disturbing it.
