About this Aarti
The Ganesh aarti invokes Shri Ganesha — the elephant-headed son of Shiva and Parvati — as Vighnaharta (remover of obstacles) and lord of beginnings. The seven stanzas praise his single tusk, his mouse-mount, and his role as the first deity invoked in any prayer. It is recited on Wednesdays, during Ganesh Chaturthi, and at the start of every new venture.
